Concussions are a common issue in sports which have the potential for very serious problems if not treated correctly. Anyone who sustains a blow to the head and experiences:

  • Confusion or memory loss
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Clumsiness
  • Loss of consciousness

… needs to be removed from athletic¬† participation until cleared by a medical professional (MD,DO,PA). The risk of swelling or bleeding in the brain or what is called ‘second-impact syndrome’ is becoming more and more understood and can be casatrophic if the proper care is not taken.

Here at Peak Performance Physical Therapy we are the first and only Concussion Prevention and Testing Program in the Missoula Valley. We are offering a baseline test as well as post-concussion and physical exertion testing to get our area athletes back on the field safely and quickly. We are working closely with Montana Neurobehavioral Specialists to provide the best and most effective care possible.
